GlassProtect U Jeweller is a version of Ajax’s well-known glass break detector, refined to meet strict UK standards. The built-in microphone is fine-tuned to respond only to vibrations characteristic of glass breakage. Thanks to the advanced DualTone digital algorithm, GlassProtect U Jeweller accurately identifies the sound pattern of breaking glass while ignoring common background noise, such as barking dogs, traffic, and water splashing. Three sensitivity levels are available to suit different environments.

Enhanced glass break detection

GlassProtect U Jeweller detects the sound of breaking glass using a sensitive microphone and the DualTone digital algorithm. The alarm will be raised if the device detects a dull, low-frequency sound of impact and a high-frequency sound of glass shattering within 1.5 seconds. This two-stage detection process significantly reduces the chance of false alarms. The detector’s sensitivity can be adjusted in an Ajax app, and there are three available levels to choose from. These flexible settings make the device suitable for use in any space.

GlassProtect U Jeweller does not respond to the breaking of glass coated with shockproof, sunscreen, decorative, or any other film. To detect the breaking of such glass, we recommend using detectors featuring shock and tilt sensors.

Easy integration with third-party detectors

GlassProtect U Jeweller has the connector for a third-party wired NC detector, such as a motion, opening, or vibration detector, whether newly installed or already in use. For third-party opening detectors, the Chime feature can be enabled. It provides a sound signal when the opening detectors are triggered while the system is disarmed.

Wire-free flexibility and reliable performance

GlassProtect U Jeweller works wirelessly. Each device comes with a pre-installed CR123A battery from a trusted manufacturer, so the detector is ready to operate right out of the box — no extra steps are needed. Each device battery is tested during production, and Ajax Systems checks every unit to ensure reliable performance. The battery lasts about five years and can be easily replaced when needed. Its state is always available in Ajax apps. Users and monitoring companies receive low battery notifications well in advance and have enough time to replace the battery without urgency.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

Communication through steel and concrete

Some facilities have thick walls, metal partitions, or sheer distances that affect signal quality. Ajax range extenders are designed to increase the range of a wireless network and deliver stable connection with a hub despite the obstacles. And by choosing the model with an Ethernet cable connector, you get an additional communication channel. А single system can accommodate up to five range extenders.

System supervision

Ajax devices constantly check their states through automatic self-diagnosis and send this information to the hub. Key parameters such as tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor states are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server manages the connection between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring alarm notifications are delivered immediately to ARCs and users. If a malfunction or connection loss occurs, an installer is promptly informed to perform the required service.

Sabotage protection

The detector’s enclosure has a tamper button that detects if the device is detached from the mounting panel or removed from the surface. If this happens, the system immediately alerts the monitoring company and users to the incident.

The system protects all stored and transmitted data using block encryption featuring a dynamic key. This encryption makes it difficult to reprogram the device, change its settings, or steal the data.

Effortless installation and setup

GlassProtect U Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. Using SmartBracket, an installer can effortlessly mount the device, eliminating the need to disassemble the enclosure. Ajax apps help quickly make the detector part of the ecosystem: simply scan the QR code to pair the device with the hub. All settings can be configured remotely, so on-site visits are not needed.
